Volunteering At Big Swamp Wildlife Park

Big Swamp Wildlife Park

Schools and Education

Big Swamp Wildlife Park is a community-based volunteer run organisation that is used by schools and the wider community as a recreational and resource centre. In general we do not take on volunteers under the age of 18 years unless they are participating in one of a number of structured workplace learning programmes supported by the Park.

Big Swamp Wildlife Park supports vocational training in Bunbury High Shools, offering work experience for students interested in Native Animal based experience and related areas.

We also participate in a primary school personal achievement programme offering younger children the opportunity to do community service in a suppervised environment.

School Groups

Big Swamp Wildlife Park is a great way to enhance children's knowledge of our wonderfully unique and diverse native bird and mammal species.

All age groups benefit from the experience as various levels of learning can be catered for.

We can provide activity sheets; fact sheets and discussions on a variety of Native Species related topics.

Our facilities provide for hands on experience and there are plenty of shaded areas for picnics and morning tea.

The continued support of the Big Swamp Wildlife Park by school groups will help to ensure our future as a community based facility.
